![]() ![]() I'm just putting it out here so others might see it, and not need to contact support for what was a really simple fix. This came about after a quick - and excellent chat with the Synology support team. I uninstalled Cloud Station from the Package Manger, and now I have all of my usable space back. Apparently, Cloud Station will suck up, spit out, and not report any space it uses for shadow copies, and because of some bug it had managed to fill the remaining 2tb of space with shadow copies of shadow copies. I did a Properties check of the main folder, and it showed 3 tb used, and I couldn't figure out where the rest of the space had gone. I found this really wierd as I had left it at 3.1 tb used space when I left on my vacation. A person name or a date in a giant garbled pile.I recently had a problem where, after returning from vacation, my Synology NAS was reporting 2.3 gb free out of my 5.4 tb Volume1. I like having things in folders and sub folders organized by more than just. But when you have thousands of downloads mixed with personal and business images taken via camera or downloaded for multiple purposes. Create A Scheduled Task Service On Synology Dsm In the General tab, specify a name for your task (eg. It's cool for business or a small amount of photos from a trip. Set a Task to Stop Cloud Sync On the Diskstation Manager, go to Control Panel -> Task Scheduler and create a Scheduled Task for a service as shown below. I also hope they bring back ds cloud support as drive and the new photo management software is so primitive. I figured I might as well have both ports working and fail over vs one doing nothing all the time. I think some of the issues I had came after binding my 2 ethernet ports. I'll re-read your method when I'm ready to set it up and hopefully my network works. I tried using webdav before but I have issues with somethings on my network and it didn't work. But it sucks when you lose internet connection and can't access files. On the Cloud Sync user interface, select the connection which has an issue from the left panel. Would that be just a upload only scenario? On the desktop drive sync app it has a "free up space" option, even though it's set as two way. Solution 1: Reconnect Synology NAS and the cloud Solution 2: Auto update Cloud Sync Solution 3: Check limitations of a specific cloud Easier way to sync files between Synology NAS and a cloud drive Solution 1: Reconnect Synology NAS and the cloud 1. I want to free up space on my mobile and dump a continuous back up on my NAS of my phones photos. Too bad that feature is ONLY on laptops and not on mobile devices. I did something with drive for syncing my laptop which worked. Glad you found a way to set up a two way sync folder that uses an app that's based on a readily available app like webdav. So I just stopped using the pc back up feature on drive manager? (I forget all the similar names of these apps). I was disabling back up and then syncing all of them and the re enabling back up. The conflict makes one or the other no longer allow backup/sync - _. So much work.Įspecially when one folder is being synced and the other is being backed up. Or adding them all in 1 app vs having to authorize a folder then go and create it, select it and then associate 1 folder to the nas. I'd rather have the option to just right click a folder and it be added. All of those share folders in 2 different apps. I just really hate the awkward way of syncing via drive sync etc. I did see quite a few nice things on dsm 7 apps. See only cloud does a proper backup of files and folders and photos. Does it keeps things in original folder order? That's one thing that annoys me about other photo backups like the new and old photo station and memories or whatever it was Called. Got them off amazon all in the past 3 weeks.ĭs file? Interesting. I just got a ds 720+ and 2 920+ and all of them came with cloud Station. ![]()
